Number Plate Bracket Removal – Spare Wheel Access
Application
This procedure describes the approved method for temporarily removing the number plate bracket to enable spare wheel removal.
Tools Required
10 mm socket and ratchet
10 mm spanner
Procedure
Locate the Deutsch electrical connector beneath the number plate bracket and disconnect it.
Using a 10 mm socket and ratchet on the bolt and a 10 mm spanner on the nut, remove the fasteners from both sides of the number plate bracket.
Remove the number plate bracket to allow unobstructed access to the spare wheel.
Compliance Notice
The number plate bracket must be reinstalled immediately after completion of spare wheel removal or refitting.
In accordance with applicable Australian Design Rules and state and territory road legislation, the number plate must be:
Securely attached
Clearly visible
Correctly positioned prior to vehicle operation
Failure to refit the number plate bracket and number plate before driving may result in non-compliance with Australian road regulations.
